I'm Sasha (@theepolishedpotter), the creator, hands & heart behind Wyld Heart Ceramics. I started Wyld Heart after nearly a decade of chasing promotions in corporate America left me burnt out & unhappy. Then life threw me a curveball: a concussion that forced me to finally slow down. That’s when I realized my priorities had become totally misaligned.

In order to recover, I had to step away from my career and try a new path—enter pottery. What started as a date night with my husband quickly became my creative lifeline, and a form of active meditation that helped me work through depression, anxiety and grief to reclaim myself for myself.

Being a Black woman in tech in Corporate America did a number on my confidence. I often felt like I had to pick between being true to myself or succeeding in my career. But pottery showed me I didn’t have to choose. Style, creativity and substance can totally coexist, and when they do, it’s pure magic.
